Over in our area, near the Apex airport just outside of Silverdale, I was told about
a property cleanup. John was a D-derby guy who lived on property his family bought
in the '20's or '30's. His brother Dave is cleaning the property up. I went on a tour
today, and saw a variety of stuff under the trees. Included in the collection, noting
only the MV items, all are in rough shape, but he's just looking for scrap value out of all of it.

1977 USMC gas can, really rough, nearly gone,
1943 Bennett gas can,
2) M416 rims with wheels,
Deuce tool box for under the driver door, missing it's door,
deuce bumperette, left side?
M105 frame only,
M101 trailer tub,
2) M105 trailer tubs,
GTB  missing virtually all the body parts, has home made boom on the back,
Steering box, looks like a deuce part,
Fiberglass roof, with ring mount access, this thing is wiiide with square corners...

There was more, but I could only remember so much. I should have taken notes.
There was a 5 ton dump rear section, and more, and this is just the stuff outside.
There are two large buildings, one is missing it's roof, and Dave hasn't gone into
them yet, but I'm on his list to tour them also.

Good thing they hauled off 250+ cars so far, and the tire pile is going to be huge.

If you're interested, please call Dave Graham direct, 360-692-9950

He has a tractor on site and will help load

NOW HEAR THIS

Early thinking and planning for the 2012 Arlington Fly-In began soon after the 2011 show. Some great ideas were put forth and today, following a decision making meeting, we have some great news to share.

The traditional Camp Adams assigned space was somewhat off in left field so far as the visiting public was concerned. Event managers have offered and we have accepted a move across the main taxiway to a more centrally located area. The new space is slightly larger in overall space including more length. We now occupy the entire space between taxiways HOTEL and ECHO and from the main taxiway DELTA that bordered our old area down to taxiway JULIET. In addition, we will have use of the grass space between ECHO and FOXTROT. Now, I realize that this might not be clear to everyone but, rest assured, we will have much better public access and two nearby tram stops. Also, showers will be within walking distance.

The Camp layout will be similar to the old one. In coming months we will get a sample ground layout map to you.

Official move in day will be Wednesday July 11. Air show aeobatics will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Our pass-in-review parades will be Friday and Saturday as will the tank demonstrations. Camp breakdown will begin at noon on Sunday July 15 except for our long distance traveling Canadian partners who require an earlier start for home. We will begin the camp setup, raising the large HQ tents and others, on Saturday, July 6 Some of us will begin our week long vacation in Camp starting Sunday July 7. Anyone wanting an early start is most welcome to help with setup and to stay in Camp on those pre-show days.

We have been assigned the same parking area for hauling trailers and private non-military vehicles. Half of our old area will be reserved for our tank and other demonstrations.

The B-17 that could not make it last year has asked to come this year. The FAA and nearby emergency units have requested that NO vehicle sirens be used during the Fly-In as their use in the past, including the pass-in-review parade, has caused some confusion and concerns.

Please contact me if you have questions or concerns.
